Refund policy

Fourteen days, no questions asked.

Paid plans are monthly or yearly subscriptions sold through Paddle. If a payment was a mistake, ask within 14 days and you get all of it back. This page says how to ask, and what happens after those 14 days.

1. Who sells and who refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the merchant of record for every Cloudblame order: it takes the payment, issues the invoice, charges any sales tax or VAT and carries out every refund. Your card statement and your invoice name Paddle.

Paddle's own terms for buyers also apply to your purchase: the checkout buyer terms and the invoiced consumer terms.

2. Fourteen days from any plan payment

You can ask for a full refund of any plan payment within 14 days of the day it was charged: the first payment or a renewal, monthly or yearly. You do not have to give a reason.

The refund is the whole payment, including the tax Paddle charged with it. When we make a refund you asked us for, we cancel the subscription at the same time, so the plan ends then and does not renew. A refund made by Paddle on a request at paddle.net does not cancel the plan by itself: cancel it in the console as well (section 4), or tell us and we cancel it.

After 14 days a plan payment is not refunded, but once you cancel no further plan payment is charged (section 4).

3. How to ask

  • Email [email protected] from the address you sign in with, or tell us which address paid. The Paddle order or invoice number helps but is not needed.
  • Or ask Paddle directly at paddle.net, where you can look up the order with the email address you paid with.

A request counts from the day you send it: one sent on the 14th day is in time, even if the refund is made later.

4. Cancelling is not a refund

Cancel any time in the console under Settings → Plan → “Billing, invoices and cancellation”, which opens Paddle's billing portal. The plan then runs to the end of the period you already paid for and does not renew; no further plan payment is charged.

A success share for a month your plan covered is still charged on that month's bill date (section 6) while the subscription runs to the end of its period, even after you cancel; on a yearly plan that can be a share each month until the year ends. A share that finds no live subscription waits, and is charged only if you subscribe again.

Cancelling on its own does not refund the current period. If you are still within 14 days of the payment, ask for the refund as well (section 3).

5. Yearly plans

A yearly plan costs ten months and is paid once a year. The 14 days apply to each yearly payment exactly as to a monthly one.

After 14 days the unused months of the year are not refunded. If you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the year you paid for and does not renew.

6. The success share and disputes

The success share is charged apart from the plan, once a month, as a one-time item on your subscription. It is computed only from the statement lines in your console's Ledger, read from your own AWS bill as the measurement annex describes. The 14 days above are for plan payments only: a success share is not refunded within 14 days like a plan payment. It is checked line by line instead, and what an accepted dispute takes off it is credited, as below:

  • Every statement line is in the Ledger before it is billed: statements arrive on or after the 15th of the following month, and the month's bill is issued on or after the 20th.
  • You can dispute any line, with a reason, before its bill is issued or within 30 days after. A line under dispute is in no bill until we answer.
  • If we accept a dispute on a line that was already charged, the share that line added is credited to you in full and taken off your next success shares. If your subscription ends with credit left, we refund the rest on request.
  • A rejected line counts again, and the console shows our reason.

7. Charges made in error

A charge we made in error, such as a double charge or a wrong amount, is refunded in full whenever you tell us, inside or outside the 14 days.

8. How long a refund takes

Paddle sends the refund to the card or account you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days; your bank decides when it appears on your statement. When we make a refund you asked us for, we tell you by email; a request made at paddle.net is answered by Paddle.

9. The free tier

Connecting an account, the free cost scan and the bill map cost nothing and need no card, so there is nothing to refund. There is no free trial of a paid plan: a plan starts with its first payment, and the 14 days take the place of a trial.

10. Your rights by law

Nothing in this policy limits a right you have by law, such as a consumer's right of withdrawal where it applies. Where the law gives you more, the law applies.
